This is the running and fitness blog of a
"normal" distance runner (is there really such a thing?). This site has info on shoes, gear, trails and
races, along with opinions on hot topics.
Run. Write. Race. is written from the point of view
of a 30-something guy, a person who is absolutely NOT built like a Kenyan
marathoner. I work full-time and squeeze training runs into odd hours. As
opposed to being sponsored, I need to convince my wife to let me buy new
running gear (although I'm open to offers; I'm looking at you Nike and UA!);
this makes me very picky about how I spend my money. Gear reviews on this site
will not shy away from telling what has worked, what hasn't, and why.
With this in mind, I’ve developed this
blog to talk about the things that are not discussed elsewhere, such as:
- How to know if you’re addicted to ibuprofen
- How to know if you sweat a lot more than regular people
- What to do when you’re in the middle of a 6 mile loop while pushing a running stroller and your child announces that she’s bored and has to pee

- Which water-resistant headphones are actually
water-resistant
My hope is that this blog will entertain, inform, and provide a place where "normal" runners can talk without feeling inferior or intimidated, kind of like the “Average Joe’s” of the running world (bonus points for catching the Dodgeball reference).
If this is your first time here, please feel free to click on any of the tabs above, read about me, or start off with a recent or popular post selected along the side. If you like the site I hope you'll take a second to "Like" it on Facebook or follow it on Google. Or both!
Thanks for reading!
